refusing to fit into any kind of box

even the ones I fashion for myself

I am free to express

or to shut up

to be open or inhibited

to be exuberant or stifled

to be animated or quiet

who cares

I allow the oddities of my being

to show up in all its weird

and wonderful utterances

willing to raise eyebrows

at the risk of being misunderstood

limited by a language

that is but an approximation of meaning

often missing the context of inner experience and vulnerability

that frames my chosen expression

falling short of communicating its intention

here I am

loving the unfolding of being

and growing into my authentic self

forever curious what will emerge next
